Listen to GRN’s Live Broadcast at DeVivo Brothers Eatery with a couple of men on a mission…

On a chilly Friday morning, a couple of brothers in Christ were able to sit down, enjoy some great DeVivo Brothers Eatery coffee and share their story of brotherhood with Sissel Anderson and Dave Palmer on the Guadalupe Radio Network.  I won’t spoil the story, but it all leads back to a gentleman on a journey to Christ, a February 2016 Troops of Saint George campout in east Texas and others he roped in to join him on the Exodus 90 journey.  If you are struggling in today’s world, please take a listen, find a couple of men, and jump in!

Troop 31 has a couple of Tribunes in the making…

Troop 31 News:  two brothers, Sean and Liam O’Flaherty,  are one month away from reaching the Tribune rank in the Troops of Saint George.  As two of the founding members of Troop 31 Sean and Liam have been working through the ranks since 2013.   Thru tenacity and hard work, they have completed all 8 of the core Achievements, and 8 other achievements.  Their final Tribune Projects were started this year by both Sean and Liam, and they just finished each of their projects. Sean’s Tribune Project was the demolition of a water fountain perched on the side wall in the lobby of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church in Lewisville, Texas.  With his knowledge of tools and woodworking, Sean was able to take out the water fountain, and then sand and stain a thin board to cover the area where the water fountain hung.  Once covered by the stained piece of wood, an artful cross in a frame was attached to the front.  Then the Lighthouse CD shelf was attached to the wall above the board.  This project was requested by the parish priest Fr. Assaad El Basha at Our Lady of Lebanon Church. Liam’s Tribune Project was the construction….

Cleveland Troop Advances First Cadet to the Senior Patrol

Troop 1684, based at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish on Cleveland’s eastside in South Euclid, had their first member advance from Junior Cadet status to Senior Cadet this past Saturday, April 25th.  “We are encouraging the fathers and sons of our Troop to continue with their Junior Skill Requirement and Senior Achievement Course training at home during this time of isolation and physical distancing,” Chris, the Troop 1684 Captain said.  “Rather than focusing on what we are unable to do, let’s focus on what we can do.  The father and son component of TSG is at the very core of this organization.  There is still a tremendous amount that is able to be accomplished even in light of our limited capacity to gather,” he continued.   Troop 1684 was chartered 18 months ago in October 2018, officially bringing the first of several TSG troops to the Northeast Ohio region.  While their troop has grown steadily during this time, drawing families from several parishes in the vicinity, the majority of their cadets are younger and remain within the Junior Patrol ranks.  Chris explained, “This is a major milestone for our Troop, graduating a cadet from the Junior to the….

The Troops of Saint George Grow Their Board and Cross International Borders

(March 7, 2020) By Brian Squibbs KELLER, Texas – The Troops of Saint George is delighted to announce the addition of The Most Reverend David Dennis Kagan, Bishop of Bismarck to our National Board of Directors. Dr. Jeremy Lusting, Cheif Executive Director and Chairman of the Board, shares “to fulfill our mission of enhancing the father and son relationship in His Holy Church, it became paramount that the National Board of Directors continue to develop, particularly with Magisterial guidance, as we continue to expand our apostolate across our great country.  Our team spent months in prayer, discerning over the next advisor to this great mission.  This was a decision that was not taken lightly and required the most perfect candidate that could not only uphold our values but enhance them as well.” “After several correspondences and a personal visit with Bishop Kagan to learn about the Troops of Saint George, our history and our mission, it became clear to our entire team that he was divinely placed in our midst”, states Dr. Lustig.  Following the extension of a request to join us, His Excellency responded with, “upon prayerful consideration, I do accept your offer to join the Troops of Saint….

Through participation in the Holy Mass, Christ invites the Troops of Saint George to continue on the path of the life of the virtues. Christ renews sacramentally His Sacrifice on Calvary at every Holy Mass, inviting us to place our hearts into His Most Sacred Heart, inviting us to follow Him ever more faithfully and generously on the path of true and steadfast love with its destination in the eternal life of Heaven. The Troops of Saint George add Life and Dignity of the Human Person Achievement Course

(JUNE 15, 2019) By Brian Squibbs KELLER, Texas – The Troops of Saint George (TSG) add another weapon in the battle for the family and human life through a new Senior Cadet Achievement Course. “After my wife and I discussed what we had just witnessed in Unplanned, we knew there was more we can do in support of life through the apostolate”, shares Brian Squibbs, Director of Communications and Recruitment. “We shared our idea of an Achievement Course centering around our respect for life from conception to natural death with the National Team and got to work.” This new Achievement Course, aptly titled, Life and Dignity of the Human Person, is blessed with Saint Teresa of Calcutta as the patron Saint. “Saint Teresa is a guiding light and model on how we show Christ to all human persons, from conception to natural death, to the impoverished, to the differently-abled, and everyone in between”, he said. The Achievement Course’s objective is for the Senior Cadet and his father to mobilize their local community in support of the culture of life through prayer and community outreach. In carrying out the mission of the Troops of Saint George, the members utilize the TSG….

Troops of St. George seeks to inspire, equip holy men

(JUNE 7, 2019) By Benjamin Becker The parish bumper stickers say it’s “Fort Wayne’s Best Kept Secret,” and for many people it just might be. In Fort Wayne’s only traditional Latin Mass parish, Sacred Heart, a lot is going on and even more seems to be bubbling up. One draw to this gem of Fort Wayne is the Latin Mass itself, which continues to attract more and more young people. National Catholic Register and the United Kingdom’sCatholic Herald both recently featured full-length, statistic-laden articles drawing attention to the fact that youth are disproportionately attending the Latin Mass parishes. Sacred Heart is no exception, with its growing number of parishioners. As the Catholic Herald said, it looks like “the new kids are old rite.” With the influx of new parishioners, a number of new devotional groups have started at Sacred Heart. The Militia of St. Joseph, “The Terror of Demons,” focuses on spiritual combat and male spirituality, while the Handmaids of St. Joseph caters to women of the parish. The Young Women’s Sodality meets regularly, and the newest addition to the parish’s laity programs has been the long-anticipated Troops of St. George young men’s program. Read the full article here…

Father Mitch Pacwa Addresses the Dallas-Fort Worth Troops

Fr. Mitch Pacwa, who appears regularly on EWTN, was the speaker at a recent North Texas Troops of Saint George meeting held at the parish hall of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church in Lewisville, Texas with pastor Fr. Assaad El-Basha, and home to TSG Troop 31.  Members of Troops 1 of Irving, Troop 5 of Keller, Troop 31 of Flower Mound, Troop 33 of Lewisville and Troop 77 from Allen were present the meeting.  With well over 50 plus cadets and leaders in attendance, Fr. Mitch Pacwa spoke to all of them on the importance of good solid relationships between father and sons. He highlighted how TSG helps in the passing along of the Faith, virtues, and knowledge that males need now and in the future. TSG was founded in 2013 as a Catholic Father and Son Outdoors organization, that has steadily grown throughout the US.  Fr. Mitch has been a great role model for the boys as he himself likes to hunt and camp in the great outdoors.  Speaking to them, he stressed that the boys of today need to continually refine themselves instead of becoming complacent; Catholic society needs the Troops of Saint George to help….

Troops of Saint George North Texas Troop Contio Camp-out 2018

By Liam and Pierce O’Flaherty On November 30th through December 2nd, TSG Troops 1, 5, 31, 33, 77 and 1170 gathered together for a North Texas Camp-out in Van Alstyne, Texas, headquarters for Troop 1.  We had lots of fun and during the night there was a big thunderstorm with rain, hail and high wind buffeting the camp, making everything a muddy mess for the following day. The next day all of the troops gathered together to cycle through some “how to” stations.  There was knife safety, packing a backpack, first aide, starting a camp-fire and leatherworking.   All the cadets also played human foosball, in Troop 1’s handcrafted foosball court, which is a game of people acting as foosball men, using PVC pipes and boards to hold on to while kicking a soccer ball around a contained court.  Others went fishing in a lake nearby.   In the afternoon all the boys and dads chipped in to help spread mulch out on the entrance and exit ways to the camp-out so that everyone would be able to get their vehicles out the next day.  Confessions were heard by Fr. McDonnell from Mater Dei, the home parish for Troop 1, and then Fr. McDonnell with….

The Troops of Saint George March for the Unborn in Dallas

March For Life – Dallas, Texas 2019   On a cold and windy day in downtown Dallas, Texas, thousands of prayerful protesters gathered.  The annual March For Life was held on Saturday, January 19th in support of all the unborn babies being aborted each year.  Because of the Roe vs. Wade decision that happened here in Dallas at the Earl Cabell Courthouse back in 1973, the March for Life is held and normally runs from the Cathedral on the north side of downtown to the southwest side of downtown where the courthouse is located. This year marks the 5th year that the Troops of Saint George has marched in the annual March for Life in Dallas.  There were troop members and their families there from Troop 1, 31 and 77.  Troop banners, the St. George Flag and the crucifix of Our Lord Jesus Christ were held high in the wind. The cadets and all marched thru the streets of Downtown Dallas praying and singing to show their support for all the littlest ones who cannot represent themselves. Wanted to say thanks to all the people that made it out for another March for Life in Dallas.  Good showing, TSG troops, on….
